Sunday Russet Club: Vol. 2

Sunday Russet Club: Vol. 2

Has this month been a lot for anyone else, or is it just me?

I took most of January to rest and reset and I accomplished that goal, but now with everything starting to ramp up and tax season looming, just like that my nervous system is shot. It feels like everything is at a standstill while also moving at warp speed; like there’s not “enough” (of gestures vaguely) and too much at the same time. Restless and exhausted. Fight or flight, but inevitably, freeze.

And would you look at that, nothing is getting done!

This is the exact opposite of how I wanted to feel this year (I literally wrote about this last month, lol), and I’m trying to figure out why my body feels like I’m always under attack. Where does the impulse to rush and panic come from?

During yesterday’s anxiety spiral, I looked outside and realized it was 6pm and still light out. I felt a genuine sense of dread wondering how many times I might have missed the chance to be with the sun a few seconds longer. How many things have gone unnoticed because I was lost in my own head?

*sad violin interlude*

I’m not really sure where/how to end this, lol! “Wah wah, my brain is mean to me” is just one of the things I wanted to write about in this post, but alas… my brain has been mean to me! I’m going to spend this last day of February thanking the sun, staring at my plants, and shaking out the wrinkles, because I refuse to not be present a second longer! There is work to be done and whimsy to be experienced!

Here’s a picture of my plant table for good measure!

Until next time! *forehead kisses for all!*
